Support for Eyesight Conservation

When Hellen Keller challenged Lions International to become “knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness” in 1925,  her question was not taken lightly. The Lions made vision conservation a mainstay of their humanitarian efforts.

For many years the Chester Lions Club has supported organizations devoted to eyesight conservation.  This year the Club will donate $1,000 to each of the following causes that have been recommended as Lions designated charities:

Camp Happiness
Camp Marcella
Concordia Learning Center
Diamond Spring Lodge
Jamesburg Rehabilitation Center
John D. Young Memorial Lions Blind Center
Lions Eye Bank of Delaware Valley
Lions Eye Bank of New Jersey
New Jersey Lions Eye Research Foundation
New Jersey Blind Athletes Association
Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic, Inc.
The NJ Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center

The Chester Lions Club supports Local, National and International projects through its motto “We Serve”.  Those interested in additional information regarding Lionism please visit our website at
